Vaduthala Nair

Vaduthala Nair, the Kshatriya/Warrior of Parayi petta panthirukulam(The 12 castes that the women of caste named 'Paraya' delivered) belongs to the present Kundooly Nair family of Mezhathur, near Thrithala. It was this family who took and raised the infant left behind by the Vararuchi couple while on the pilgrimage along the Nila River banks. Vaduthala Nair was an expert in martial arts.[1] He was a Nair soldier[2] The place in Ernakulam called Vaduthala is believed to be the place of Vaduthala Nair.The Aithihyamala by Kottarathil Sankunni describes the Parayi petta panthirukulam[3]
